The puppies are 8 weeks old

So we headed to Strauss Haus for the Litter Evaluation (LER). Along the way we stopped by the Olympic Discovery Trail to burn off some enery after the long drive over to Port Angeles.
Here Danzig meets one of his girls (white collar) for the 1st time.

She's clearly looking up to him already.

The pups are a bundle of energy as they wait for the LER to begin.

Jessica and her son Danny perform the evaluations.

Pick me!

White girl seems very interested in the squeeky ball

What a happy girl she is :)

NWC Specialty

It was the perfect day for an outdoor dog show. Ruth and I arrived early to start setting up for teh SSDCA NWC specialty and annual picnic.

Shavora gives Sondra a loving look as they sit and wait for the others to arrive.

The ring was huge. It started out 75X75 but luckily the judge arrived and felt one area had a hazard so we quickly shorthened it up. It was still huge though!

Here Pam is with her Best in Show puppy Hero

And here is Danzig who was Best in Show! I was quite proud of the fuzz wuzz. He really enjoyed showing outdoors, but he was pretty into the smells on the ground and it was tough to keep his head up. See the NWC SSDCA forum for full results.

A fun weekend out and about

Friday we headed to a riding area near Cle Elum called Taneum to help with a fundraiser
Danzig enjoyed running up and down the steep hills and stairs

Since we came on Friday we mostly had the place to ourselves the 1st day

Roscoe jumped onto a large stump so of course Danzig had to follow him up there

Heading to the Desert

After Taneum we headed east to the Vantage area

This area sits right on the Columbia river

The wind was picking up so Roscoe brought out a kite

Danzig found it fascinating but got in trouble for repeatedly pouncing on it when in crashed into the ground

Wrapping up desert trip

The Columbia River made for a stunning backdrop
Thanks Dad, I just love camping in the desert. As you can see we just drove up and made camp on the edge of a bluff overlooking the river

Danzig really enjoyed exploring this interesting new terrain. I was worried all the jagged rock would hurt his paws but he was fine

He was tired from running all over and slept very well

Video of the Pups at 5 weeks

Here's a video Jessica took of the Dallas/Danzig (Double D) and Shelby/Zeek puppies. The Double D litter is 5 weeks old and the other is 6 weeks old so you can tell the difference by their size.

What a fun place to hang out huh!

Oregon Meet & Greet

My friend Ruth traveled with me to Sondra's place in Oregon for a Northwest Chapter of the Shiloh Shepherd Dog Club of America meet and greet. Here we stopped for some coffee on the way. Check out the link below for a slideshow of all the dog's and see what a fun day we had in the sunshine.

We spent the following day checking out the sites of Portland which included a stroll in this lovely waterfront park.

Another Love Connection

Danzig put his studlyness to work once again with the lovely buff plush coated Elektra of Strauss Hauss.

As you can see it was love at 1st sight!

Puppies are expected in October.
