Puppies are 31 Days old

Just saying hi to a new friend.

Look how big they are getting. Proper nutrition is very important when your puppy is growing so quickly. Choose a high quality puppy food and don't be afraid to ask for recomendations from pet owners you trust who have healthy happy dogs.

Fun in the Sun

At 26 days old the fuzzies are experiencing their first outing. A very active litter is what the breeder is saying, the pups had their legs under them early on.

Too cute for words!

Puppies are 10 days old

Look at these cuties!!!
This guy/gal looks really chubby, what a healthy pup. Lots of human handling while young is a good way to begin socialization, a key to having a well behaved dog. Our fuzzy will attend puppy pre-school and kindergarten before enrolling in basic obedience classes. Then maybe some agility to keep him entertained and active. Our family spends a great deal of time outdoors camping and we live just a short distance from a great dog walking trail.

This little cutie-pie is sticking his/her tongue out. Ready or not here I come.

Puppies!!!

Here they are at just 4 days old. There are 9 in total, 4 males and 5 females. Our fuzzy wuzzy will be one of the males. It appears they are all bi-colored or sables but I'm no expert. Aren't the colored ribbons a wonderful idea, someday we will be able to look back and see how they all developed.

Saber is a great mom and is taking excellent care of her puppies. She looks a bit warm in the pictures because the welping area needs to be nice and toasty for the puppies health.

Welcome to my blog...

The rain has just started out here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I stare out the window at the drizzle daydreaming of my soon to be faithful companion. You see I'm eagerly anticipating a new puppy and can hardly wait for him to join my family. He's only 2 weeks old now but soon he will be a large majestic ISSR Shiloh Shepherd.

My search for the perfect fuzzy companion began many months ago. It started simply enough, with a list of wants, must haves and definately do not want characteristics and qualities. Quickly the more research I did the shorter the list became until voila... a Shiloh Shepherd was in my near future.

The Shiloh Shepherd is a breed still under development, and in order to better understand the breed founder's vision for these dogs, it is impotant that anyone interested in owning one take some time to read the information that is provided on the ISSR website. You will find a lot of misinformation on the Internet, especially when dealing with breeds under development, so take your time and ask a lot of questions.
